Beck’s Failure To Retract Global Warming Advocacy Provokes Online Firestorm

    Paul Joseph Watson
    Prison Planet.com
    Friday, February 26, 2010

Glenn Beck has failed to respond to a firestorm of reaction to his comments made during a February 21st interview with USA Weekend magazine in which he completely reversed his position on climate change by revealing that he believed in man-made global warming.

As we reported earlier this week, Beck appeared to stab his conservative audience in the back when he told USA Weekend magazine that man-made climate change was occurring in an article entitled Don’t judge Beck by his cover.

In the article, Beck tells interviewer Dennis McCafferty, “You’d be an idiot not to notice the temperature change.”

“He also says there’s a legit case that global warming has, at least in part, been caused by mankind,” writes McCafferty, under the sub headline, “He believes in global warming.”

“The blogosphere is on fire with reaction to McCafferty’s USA Weekend piece,” according to World Net Daily’s Chelsea Schilling, who pointed out that posters on the prominent conservative forum Free Republic were furious at Beck for seemingly performing a huge flip-flop on the issue.

“Seems like the rose-colored glasses are beginning to fall off those who used to view Mr. Beck with good approval?” wrote one.

“OK, final straw for Beck with me,” added another.

“When an unflattering quote comes out about someone, anyone, they all say, “I was misquoted.” Everyone does it. The people who were actually misquoted take legal action if a retraction/correction isn’t printed. In fact, that’s why newspapers print retractions/corrections. If Beck doesn’t sue USA Weekend, then it tells me his protestations ring hollow,” writes another.

Other respondents said they thought the article was a hit piece and that Beck’s comments on global warming had been misreported. However, Beck’s reaction to the controversy suggests otherwise.

Following the outcry, Beck responded by accusing McCafferty of inventing four of the ten things attributed to him in the article, but since Beck made no mention whatsoever of it, we can only assume that his global warming comment wasn’t one of them.

“Beck had plenty of criticism of the USA Weekend story… he didn’t raise any objections to the article’s portrayal of his environmental views,” remarks Mother Jones’s Kate Sheppard.

Since Beck changes his tune every time the wind blows (he was for the bailout before he was against it), we can only assume that increasing suspicion from conservatives over his global warming comments will force Beck to back peddle and issue some form of retraction.

However, for some this will only confirm the fact that Beck is a shill and a performing circus clown who cries on cue while hoodwinking millions of conservatives into supporting policies which represent the antithesis of true conservatism, like a national sales tax (an idea also embraced by Nancy Pelosi), while attacking people who espouse real conservative principles without constantly flip-flopping, like Congressman Ron Paul and his supporters, who he smeared as potential terrorists.

Camp FEMA: Exposing the Government Plan for Political Concentration Camps

    Kurt Nimmo
    September 18, 2009

Fox News disinfo operative par excellence Glenn Beck and his entourage of yellow journos from Hearst say FEMA camps do not exist. The Fox News kool aid drinkers, numbering in the millions but in steep decline as the truth goes viral, may believe Beck, however they are at odds with reality.

FEMA camps do exist, although they may not be explicitly run by the emergency bureaucrats. In January, a bill was introduced in Congress that would authorize the Department of Homeland Security to set up a network camp facilities to be used to intern U.S. citizens in the event of a national emergency. The National Emergency Centers Act or HR 645 mandates the establishment of “national emergency centers” to be located on military installations for the purpose of to providing “temporary housing, medical, and humanitarian assistance to individuals and families dislocated due to an emergency or major disaster,” according to the bill.

FEMA, of course, is part of the DHS, so we are mixing apples and oranges here. It’s all part of the emergent federal police state, designed to wrangle the real enemy of the government — the American people.

Rex 84, Operation Garden Plot, Operation Cable Splicer, and a flurry of executive orders issued over the years have established the framework for concentration camps. Glenn Beck, of course, didn’t bother to mention any of this in his hit piece, or did his Hearst researchers bother to do a Google search. If they had, they would have stumbled upon the Pentagon’s Civilian Inmate Labor Program, provided by Army Regulation 210-35, that establishes labor programs and prison camps on Army installations. In January 2006, Kellogg, Brown and Root reported that they had received a contract from the Department of Homeland Security to expand these internment camps. More than a few have commented that the spanking new KBR camps will be used to house civilian laborers, that is to say slave laborers. Many more have said the camps are for patriots and others who are opposed to an increasingly authoritarian government.

Award winning writer and filmmaker William Lewis’ latest documentary should be used to answer Glenn Beck and the other Pentagon script readers in the corporate media. “Why is the media on the one hand saying there are no FEMA camps,” Alex Jones asks in Lewis’ Camp FEMA, “while on the other hand legislation has been introduced to build them?” As Jones notes in this landmark documentary, HR 645 legalizes what the government has spent decades building.

In the documentary, Jerome Corsi says the government is preparing for civil unrest of the sort predicted by trends forecaster Gerald Celente and others as the economy falls apart – as engineered by the bankster cabal – and millions of people lose their jobs and are reduced to penury. Corsi says he has contacted the Department of Homeland Security and they have admitted KBR has built concentration camps.

Glenn Beck, please stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

“Senate committee hearings and official FBI documents further illustrate the mindset of our elected officials as they classify homeschoolers, gun rights activists and anti-abortionists as threats against the existing social and political order; by default creating an entire nation of radicals and revolutionaries — where everyone is a suspect… equally guilty until proven otherwise,” explains the Camp FEMA write-up on Alex Jones’ Infowars Store website. “How has our government shown that they will deal with these people? The same way as every other totalitarian regime throughout history… marginalize their activities then lock them up. Prisons are being built; internment camps constructed and laws passed that deal severely with anyone who dares to step out of line or ask too many questions.”

This important film — covering an ominous topic the corporate media not only will not cover (despite an abundance of evidence) but is obliged to discredit and dismiss as the collective mental aberration of conspiracy kooks — is now available at Alex Jones’ Infowars Store.

It needs to be viewed by every American concerned about government power and the tyranny it inevitably produces. As history frighteningly and repeatedly demonstrates, unchecked government power invariably leads to fascism and totalitarianism – a fact realized by millions of Germans, Russians, and Chinese in the 20th century.

Beck has chosen to disregard what appears to be factual evidence only because the doors aren’t open for business- yet. Pray they never are.

Corporate Media Seriously Under Reports Numbers at D.C. Tea Party

    September 12, 2009

The corporate media reports “tens of thousands” in attendance at the Tea Party demo today in the District of Criminals. Sources on the scene, however, put the number at hundreds of thousands upward to over a million.

“But whether the marchers reflect a small minority’s continuing anger over the more liberal direction the country began taking in the 2008 election or something deeper that could have repercussions in 2010 and 2012 is one of the questions the march may begin to answer,” reports Politico this afternoon.

Politico and the rest of the corporate media would like to characterize the mass movement as a right versus left sideshow that is of little relevance.

In fact, there was no such “liberal” direction taken after the dog and pony show 2008 election — Obama’s administration is packed with CFR, Trilateral, Bilderberg, and Federal Reserve insiders and he continues the wars and occupations initiated under his predecessor. The elite are using left cover to push their one-world agenda. It’s business as usual, never mind CNN, MSNBC, and yes Fox News. The Democrats are under the control of the Soros one-world faction and the Republicans under the neocon one-world faction. It is all a parlor trick.

Glenn Beck covered the demo this morning on Fox. Beck’s task is to make the event look like it was organized by the Republicans. Beck will never tell you the original tea party movement was created by libertarians, not one-world Republicans. Beck will not tell you the vast majority of the participants believe both parties represent one party — what Gore Vidal called the Property Party, the small elite that own D.C., excepting Ron Paul and few other brave souls.

That’s why Beck calls Paul a dangerous kook and his supporters violent extremists. How many people in the streets of Washington at the moment supported Ron Paul during the so-called election? How many of them want to go back to the days under the Republicans and the neocon front man Bush? The Republican party is the party of record budget deficits and mass murder (more than one million dead Iraqis and counting).

Ignore the Associated Press — one of the crown jewel’s of Operation Mockingbird — and its insistence in the above video to focus on a placard thanking Fox News. Instead, look at the streaming crowd in the street outside of the of the corporate whorehouse otherwise known as the U.S. Capitol.

That’s the real story, not Glenn Beck interviewing shameless Republicans who want to gain mileage off the event.

It looks like the government will have to do something — and soon — otherwise the movement to take back the government and restore the vision of the founders will reach critical velocity and there will be no turning back.

Is a false flag event to whip the populace back into slavish obedience just around the corner?

Beck, Limbaugh, Obama and Free Speech

    August 28, 2009

Editor’s note: In less than two minutes, the conversation veers into predictable left versus right territory. Although Obama and crew are indeed going after talk radio, they are not Venezuelan revolutionary Marxists, as Beck and Limbaugh would have us believe — true Marxists usually don’t work for the bankers. Beck and Limbaugh have nothing to worry about. They work for large corporations that will obligingly pay Obama’s “diversity” and “community” tax in order to stay on the air. It will be smaller patriot radio networks that take the hit.

Decoding Scheuer’s Call for Osama to Kill More Americans

    James Corbett
    The Corbett Report
    July 6, 2009

CIA analyst Michael Scheuer’s recent call for bin Laden to kill more Americans would be shocking if we hadn’t already heard it dozens of times before from other “War on Terror” advocates. “It’s an absurd situation,” Scheuer told FOX News personality Glenn Beck on his program last week. “Only Osama can execute an attack that will force Americans to demand that their government protect them effectively, consistently, and with as much violence as necessary.”

featured stories Decoding Scheuers Call for Osama to Kill More Americans
Scheuer featured stories Decoding Scheuers Call for Osama to Kill More Americans
Scheuer seemed to be a vociferous and effective critic of the neocons.

The comments have provoked much shock and outrage among pundits and websites like Jon Stewart and NewsHounds who may have considered him to be on their side. After all, he seemed to be a vociferous and effective critic of the neocons, having authored books like Imperial Hubris and having supported Ron Paul during the 2008 Presidential debates by asserting that 9/11 was merely blowback for American interventionism in the Middle East. With his latest comments, Scheuer is now relegated to the ignoble company of neocon shills like Stu Bykofsky of the Philadelphia Inquirer, who dreamed of another terrorist attack back in 2007 to rally people around the flag (and, presumably, George W. Bush) once again; Donald Rumsfeld, who complained in 2006 that the Bush regime was a victim of its own success in the “War on Terror” and that another terrorist attack was needed to remind people that the war was still necessary; and indeed the entire neocon establishment, who in their 2000 white paper Rebuilding America’s Defenses called for “a catalyzing event like a new Pearl Harbor” to mobilize the public to get behind their goal of projecting American military influence around the globe for another century. Despite his surprisingly unhelpful attempt to clarify his remarks, Scheuer is now—like all of those who have said that terrorism is needed to bring about political support for their idea—a terrorist himself by very definition.

    The “War on Terror”

What seems paradoxical at surface level—that Scheuer is essentially joining the neocons he once opposed in wishing for another terrorist attack—is in fact perfectly understandable at a deeper level of analysis. Scheuer, like the neocons, shares an underlying belief in the “War on Terror” itself: the idea that the U.S. is facing a dramatic and existential threat from radical Muslim terrorists. They may differ in their belief about the motivating causes of this war or the best way to fight it, but that the U.S. itself is at war cannot be questioned. Thus, both Scheuer and the neocons face a shared concern: growing public skepticism taht a “War on Terror” is really taking place, or is necessary.

Indeed, since the “catalyzing event” of the “War on Terror” on 9/11/2001, Americans have been subjected to a never-ending series of vague, unsubstantiated threats from unnamed sources; a parade of losers, ex-cons, drug addicts and mentally challenged individuals who couldn’t organize a party on a Saturday night let alone a massive terrorist attack, who are inevitably spurred on, organized and funded by the FBI but who are supposedly serious threats to army bases and government buildings; the assertion that there is a new cadre of white Al-Qaeda ready to take up the jihad and strike at the ‘Homeland’; that right-wingers, gun owners and war vets (or is that left-wingers, peace activists and war moms?) are their willing accomplices, as are people who cite the consitution, vote for third parties or even sweat too much; and now not only does the Patriot Act make every misdemeanour an act of terrorism, the Department of Defense is now openly classifying all political protest as acts of terrorism. Is it any wonder that the electorate’s trust in the government has reached an all-time nadir and that the overwhelming majority of Americans think they are being lied to about 9/11 itself?

    • A d v e r t i s e m e n t
    • efoods

And so men like Scheuer find a common enemy with the neocons: those who understand that there are radical Muslims who are willing to fight and die for their cause, but don’t believe they would be able to carry off an attack even approaching the scale of 9/11 without the active support of state actors and intelligence agencies. Of course, nothing can convince someone that there is an imminent terrorist threat like a terrorist attack, so those who are convinced of the necessity of the “War of Terror” end up hoping for terrorists to strike down some of their fellow countrymen so they can get back to fighting over how best to wage the war.

Worryingly, it is a remarkably small leap from the conviction that a new terrorist attack would be helpful to the decision to provocateur or stage just such an attack. While it remains doubtful that Mr. Scheuer would ever entertain such thoughts, the same cannot be said of some of his less scrupulous compatriots. Even Zbigniew Brzezinski warned the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 2007 that a terrorist attack was likely to be staged in order to provide the Bush Administration with a pretext for attacking Iran. Nor is this concern over false-flag terrorism merely hypothetical. It is already official government policy.

In 2002, Rumsfeld oversaw the creation of a new strike force in the “War on Terror” called P2OG. Short for Proactive, Preemptive Operations Group, it was a body bringing together CIA and Pentagon teams to combine military, technical and intelligence capabilities. The group’s responsibilities include “’stimulating reactions’ among terrorists and states possessing weapons of mass destruction—that is, for instance, prodding terrorist cells into action and exposing themselves to “quick-response” attacks by U.S. forces.”

In effect, Rumsfeld and the DoD decided that it was worth letting some civilians die in order to flush the terrorists out. The enormity of this revelation was not lost on Chris Floyd of Counterpunch: “Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, George W. Bush and the other members of the unelected regime in Washington plan to deliberately foment the murder of innocent people—your family, your friends, your lovers, you—in order to further their geopolitical ambitions.”

Again, it is important to note that the idea of provoking terrorists into acting or allowing innocent civililans to die so the “War on Terror” can forge ahead is not speculation or fantasy. It is an official government strategy. And it was implemented in Iraq.

U.S. and British Staging Terror in Iraq

During the Troubles in Northern Ireland, the British Army set up an intelligence unit with the throwaway name Force Research Unit (FRU) to implant moles into every level of the IRA. Kevin Fulton was one of those operatives in FRU, providing inside intel on IRA operations to his handlers; intel, he was assured, that reached all the way to the Prime Minister’s office. He caught wind of the 1998 Omagh Bombing in advance and warned his handlers 48 hours ahead of time that an attack was about to take place. The decision was made not to stop the attack because to do so would have meant blowing the cover of one of their high-ranking IRA moles. Consequently, nothing was done and the bombing went ahead, claiming the lives of 29 civilians and injuring over 300. In the wake of the attack, the disgraced FRU became known as the Joint Support Group (JSG) and was redeployed to Afghanistan and Iraq to transplant their ‘anti-terror’ techniques to the streets of Baghdad and Basra. (See this article for the FRU/JSG story)

In 2005, British SAS officers dressed up as Arabs got into a shootout with Iraqi police. They were subdued, and their booby-trapped car, laden with ammunition, was seized. Rather than explain what the SAS officers may have been attempting to do, the British sent in six tanks to free the two prisoners from an Iraqi jail. (See the full story here).

In 2006, the dome of the Al-Askariya Mosque, one of the most important Shia Mosques in the world, was ripped apart by a bomb. The Sunnis had nothing to gain by staging this attack and inflaming the Shi’ite community in Iraq, but an increase in sectarian violence is the expected result. At the time, 27 year CIA veteran Ray McGovern said he believed western intelligence may have been behind the bombing. When the Mosque was bombed again the following year the Iraqis outright accused the U.S. ofs having done it in order to promote sectarian strife and keep the region Balkanized.

Just this year, intelligence analyst and investigative journalist Wayne Madsen revealed that American intelligence has been sending Afghan mercenaries into Iraq in order to kill and terrorize the local civilians and even American military.

Such stories, of course, are completely counter-intuitive, even nonsensical, to the average mind. When the P2OG game plan of provoking terror in order to fight the terrorists is revealed, however, it makes sense. This is the warped logic of one who succumbs to the idea that terror attacks are necessary to help protect us from terror.

    The False-Flag Mentality

To say that there is no difference between musing about an attack to imagine its possible “beneficial” consequences and actually making that attack happen would be wrong. But to say that such a leap is unfathomable or without precedent would be equally erroneous.

With P2OG in our own time and Operation Northwoods half a century ago, the American military has shown that it is willing and able to commit acts of terrorism in order to “win” a greater war. It would be a disservice to our country if we were not to question our leaders when they come up with plans of such unspeakable moral bankruptcy, and it is equally necessary to rebuke those who start down this path of reasoning by declaring the necessity or helpfulness of a terrorist attack. Once one has made that decision to welcome terrorism for its transformative political power, one has opened the doorway to false-flag terrorism and the sacrifice of innocent civilians.

Perhaps it is no surprise that Glenn Beck seemed to hardly even blink as Scheuer made his outrageous comments. Beck himself seems to share in this false-flag mentality whereby the trauma of a major terror attack is actually something to rejoice in (cf. his entire “9/12 Project” premise). It can only be hoped that when and if a commentator is to make such thoughtless and potentially terroristic comments as those made by Scheuer (and Bykofsky and Rumsfeld) the interviewer will have the wherewithal to call them on it.

The Bigger Story Behind Michael Scheuer’s Wish for an Attack on America

    Washington’s Blog
    July 3, 2009
featured stories The Bigger Story Behind Michael Scheuers Wish for an Attack on America
Former CIA employee Michael Scheuer said he wants al-Qaeda to detonate a major weapon in the United States.

Everyone is appropriately outraged that the former head of the CIA unit which hunted Bin Laden for almost a decade — Michael Scheuer — told Glenn Beck:

The only chance we have as a country right now is for Osama bin Laden to deploy and detonate a major weapon in the United States

But people aren’t putting this in context. In fact, many Neocons have also stated a desperate yearning for another attack on America (and see this).

But there is another story here as well.

    • The CIA commander in charge of the capture of Bin Laden during the invasion of Afghanistan said that the U.S. let Bin Laden escape from Afghanistan

    • A retired Colonel and Fox News military analyst said:

“We know, with a 70 percent level of certainty — which is huge in the world of intelligence — that in August of 2007, bin Laden was in a convoy headed south from Tora Bora. We had his butt, on camera, on satellite. We were listening to his conversations. We had the world’s best hunters/killers — Seal Team 6 — nearby. We had the world class Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) coordinating with the CIA and other agencies. We had unmanned drones overhead with missiles on their wings; we had the best Air Force on the planet, begging to drop one on the terrorist. We had him in our sights; we had done it ….Unbelievably, and in my opinion, criminally, we did not kill Usama bin Laden.”

    • French soldiers insist that they easily could have captured or killed Bin Laden, but that the American commanders stopped them

In other words – as demonstrated above – the U.S. did not really try to capture Bin Laden.

And remember that the Congressional Joint Inquiry into 9/11 discovered that an FBI informant had hosted and rented a room to two hijackers in 2000 and that, when the Inquiry sought to interview the informant, the FBI refused outright, and then hid him in an unknown location, and that a high-level FBI official stated these blocking maneuvers were undertaken under orders from the White House (confirmed here by the Co-Chair of the Joint Inquiry and former Head of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Bob Graham; and see this Newsweek article).

And that a key Al Qaeda trainer actually worked with the Green Berets and the CIA and was an FBI informant.

And that the CIA may have helped most of the 9/11 hijackers get their visas to the U.S.

And that CIA agents allegedly met with Bin Laden two months before 9/11, when he was already supposedly wanted for the bombing of the U.S.S. Cole, and when it was obvious to the intelligence services that he was supposedly planning 9/11.

Given that the government shielded top Al Qaeda members, and give that one of the top guys responsible for capturing Bin Laden now wishes OBL would attack America using weapons of mass destruction, the question must be asked whether people within the U.S. government wanted Bin Laden to attack the U.S. prior to 9/11.

This is an especially interesting question since a delay of a couple of minutes would have allowed the 9/11 attacks to succeed.

Beck and Former CIA Employee Agree: U.S. Needs to be Hit by al-Qaeda

    July 1, 2009

Glenn Beck nods and agrees with his guest Michael Scheuer that the only way to “save” the US (from illegal immigrants, of course) is for Osama bin Laden to succeed in detonating a weapon on American soil. Scheuer and Beck hit all the conservative buttons, from Mexicans to the mainstream media and the worst of all, Europeans. From the June 30th, 2009 Glenn Beck on Fox News.

9/11 Truth Activist Sues Glenn Beck and Fox News for Defamation

    Washington’s Blog
    June 12, 2009

An East Coast 9/11 truth activist is preparing to file a defamation lawsuit against TV / radio personality, Glenn Beck, the producers of the Glenn Beck Program, and the Fox News Channel.

    • A d v e r t i s e m e n t
    • efoods

Specifically, Greg Hoover will be suing the above-described defendants in Federal Court for Beck’s having repeatedly broadcast statements characterizing those who question the government’s official version of the events of 9/11 as, “anarchists,” “terrorists” and as persons denying the Holocaust.

The complaint will note that – on October 22, 2007 – Beck suggested that those identifying themselves as associated with the 9/11 truth movement are “dangerous” “anarchists” who deny the Holocaust, and are “the kind of group that Timothy McVeigh would come from.”

The suit will also note that during Beck’s June 10th broadcast Beck linked the murder of the Washington D.C. holocaust museum guard with “9/11 truthers.”

As I have previously written, suing people for defamation who falsely claim that 9/11 activists are terrorists could be a good way to stand up to these bullies.

    Hoover told me by email:

Copies of my actual initial filings will be available for media distribution within the upcoming week…

I do so having now cast off all other personal concerns. Having chosen sides… I’ll stand with the patriots.

Godspeed, Mr. Hoover.I will update this post with links to Mr. Hoover’s complaint as soon as it is available.

Note: Mr. Hoover has not requested either legal or financial assistance. However, if you are an attorney experienced in defamation claims, please let me know, and I’ll pass on your name.

Call Mockingbird Operative Glenn Beck’s Producer

    June 12, 2009

Author and Christian conservative political activist Mark Dice instructs all outraged by Glenn Beck’s attempt to link 9/11 truth activists to the accused racist gunman James von Brunn to call Beck’s producer:

“Please tell the audience this or post it. If you call 212-301-30000 ask for Grasham Striegel, the Fox News operator will transfer you to this scum who is Beck’s producer. I left him a nice voicemail the other day. While the operator won’t transfer you to any anchor’s voicemail….they WILL transfer you to producers, since most dumb fans don’t know who the producers are for their favorite Fox puppets,” writes Dice this morning.

“Just simply tell the operator, ‘Grasham Striegel please’ and they will transfer you. That is until he starts getting hundreds of calls and voicemails. If the operator starts screening calls because Mr. Striegel is getting hundreds of nice voicemails, then tell the operator that you are calling him back and you forgot his extension so you need to be transferred.”

“If the operator is busy, you may be immediately transferred to the Fox News viewer voicemail system.  You can listen to the menu and leave a message on the “comments” or “corrections” voicemail box. ”

Remember, that number is 212-301-30000 and the producer’s name is Grasham Striegel.

Fill up his voicemail and let Beck know we will not take his COINTELPRO treachery laying down.

Infowars has received Striegel’s email address: gresham.striegel@foxnews.com

And his direct phone number at Fox News: 212.301.3191
