Editor’s note: Here is an example of the sort of violent behavior the Pittsburgh police are notorious for using against non-violent demonstrators.
Update: Infowars Reporter Rob Dew Now Released After Being Arrested
Police and military units savagely attacked peaceful protesters in a Pittsburgh park last night, cracking heads with billy clubs, deploying LRAD sound cannons and shooting rubber bullets at close range, according to Infowars’ Jason Bermas. Fellow Infowars reporter Rob Dew was arrested during the melee.
Bermas called Alex Jones last night as the attack unfolded. Around 200 to 300 peaceful protesters had converged at Schenley Park for a demonstration but they were soon under assault from busloads of riot cops and military units who quickly descended on the scene.
According to Bermas, police were aggressively charging protesters and cracking them on the head with billy clubs and also shooting rubber bullets at close range, which in numerous past cases has proven deadly.
Police also deployed LRAD sound cannons once again in an attempt to disperse the protesters. Pittsburgh marks the first time that such weapons have been used against American citizens in public as before they were only used against insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Bermas described the scene as like something out of a movie as police attempted to block off the whole park and catch every single protester and were prepared to use violence to do so, saying that they would run up to people and crack them on the head as hard as possible.
“Everyone was just sort of standing around spectating. No one was really having an adamant protest. It was just a bunch of college kids,” witness Ben Balik told The Pittsburgh Channel.
By the end of the confrontation, around half of the entire crowd of protesters had been arrested, including Infowars producer Rob Dew and most likely We Are Change leader Luke Rudkowski.
“Varun Viswanathan, a Pitt sophomore, said he saw a police officer hitting one individual, reports Pitt News.
“I think they completely use unnecessary force on us,” he said. “They have no right to do that.”
“Pitt senior Ken Egler called the police action “one of the crazier things” he’d seen during last night’s protests, especially since he didn’t see many demonstrators in Oakland.”
“I really think it’s ridiculous,” Egler said. “We should be allowed to protest. This is needed, and they’re just basically trying to scare us.”
It is important to emphasize that the obscene behavior of cops in Pittsburgh suggests that police in America will now follow any orders, no matter how barbaric. No one can plausibly deny that the majority of cops would willingly line up American citizens and blow their heads off if they were ordered to.
Police behavior at the G20 has been widely condemned as unwarranted and the violence metered out not to provide security but to provoke demonstrators.
“The deployment of police seems to be more geared toward suppressing lawful demonstrations than actually preventing crime,” Witold Walczak, legal director of the ACLU of Pennsylvania, told the Associated Press.
“Legal observers at the gathering saw police surrounding, chasing and arresting students who weren’t involved in the protest, said Paige Cram, spokeswoman for the National Lawyers Guild, a liberal legal-aid group. She called the show of force “an ominous spectacle,” adds the AP report, referring to a similar protest on Friday night.
“A video posted Friday on YouTube shows a group of Pitt students briefly trapped on the outdoor stairwell of a campus building, evidently exposed to gaseous pepper spray and unable to move because riot police were blocking the bottom and top of the stairs. The students had been standing on a second-floor balcony, observing the clash between police and protesters on the street below.”
As of Saturday morning, we were unable to trace the exact whereabouts of Infowars reporter Rob Dew after he was arrested last night.
“After a long night of calls to Allegheny County Jail and the Pennsylvania Corrections Department, they keep referring us to one another saying they have no information, but that “protesters” are treated differently,” writes Jason Bermas.
We can now report that Rob Dew has been released and the Infowars crew are attempting to catch their flights back to Austin.

Editor’s note: It should be noted that Hugo Chávez calls Golinger “La Novia de Venezuela” (the Sweetheart of Venezuela).
From Raw Story, August 15:
Chavez: ‘The winds of war [are] beginning to blow’
Some American troops will soon find themselves stationed at military bases scattered across the South American nation of Colombia with a mission to use advanced Predator drone technology to aid in fighting the drug trade and to combat terrorism, according to published reports Saturday.
But Colombia’s neighbors certainly do not see it that way.
In Venezuela, officials bristled. President Hugo Chavez warned, “the winds of war [are] beginning to blow.”
Chavez has already accused Colombian troops of making an incursion over the border and regional tensions are running high. Honduran de-facto President Rafael Correa also took exception, saying the United States would target Colombia’s neighbors if the deal is finalized.
“It has also sparked concern from moderate Colombian allies, such as Chile and Brazil, who want assurances that U.S. forces won’t be operating outside Colombia’s territory,” The Wall Street Journal adds.
Colombia says its agreement with the United States will allow Washington to use its military bases to track drug-runners through the use of remote aircraft.
“The Brazilian president, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, called for a meeting between US President Barack Obama and the region’s leaders, saying the ‘climate of unease disturbs me,’” reported the BBC.
“This agreement reaffirms the commitment of both parties in the fight against drug trafficking and terrorism,” Colombia’s foreign ministry said in a statement Friday.
Officials here said the two countries agreed the text of an agreement, which now has to be reviewed by government agencies in Bogota and Washington before getting a final signature.
The controversial deal would permit the US military to operate surveillance aircraft from seven bases to track drug-running boats in the Pacific Ocean.
A senior US general said Thursday that the United States needed to reassure regional powers about the deal.
“I think we need to do a better job of explaining to them what we’re doing and making it as transparent as possible, because anybody’s concerns are valid,” General James Cartwright, vice chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, told a news conference.
Washington sought out its ally Colombia to make up for the loss of its hub for counternarcotics operations in Manta, Ecuador.
Ecuadoran President Rafael Correa had refused to renew an agreement that allowed the US military to fly out of Manta for the past 10 years.
The deal is worth over 40 million dollars for Bogota, along with expanded US military assistance for Bogota’s counternarcotics efforts, according to a US defense official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Cartwright and Defense Secretary Robert Gates also said this week the deal was not a unilateral move but the product of a partnership with Colombia designed to target drug cartels.
“The strategic intent is, in fact, to be able to provide to the Colombians what they need in order to continue to prosecute their efforts against the internal threats that they have,” Cartwright said.
Colombia raised concern throughout the region, which has a troubled history of US military interventions, after announcing July 15 that it was negotiating the deal.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez led the charge, alongside his Ecuadoran counterpart and ally Correa.
Speaking in Quito at a regional summit last weekend, Chavez said he was fulfilling his “moral duty” by telling fellow leaders that the “winds of war were beginning to blow.”
“This could generate a war in South America,” he said.
Other regional leaders, including Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, have asked Colombia to explain its decision.
Responding to criticism, Colombian President Alvaro Uribe said Friday the purpose of the deal was to “defeat terrorism,” adding that the accord with the United States will serves “as an insurance policy for neighboring nations.”
Uribe said he would attend an emergency summit of the Union of South American Nations (Unasur) that will gather on August 28 in Bariloche, Argentina, to discuss the situation created by the Colombian base agreement.
However, Frank Mora, a US Defense Department official for Latin America, said the controversy was a storm in a teapot.
“This agreement simply formalizes what already almost exists right now,” he told AFP.
In his remarks, Uribe also extended an olive branch to Ecuador, saying the two countries “could have dialogue” and “resolve their differences in the future.”
Ecuador broke off diplomatic relations with Colombia over last year’s air strike by the Colombian military against a Colombian leftist guerrilla base located in the Ecuadoran selva. Raul Reyes, a top leader of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), was killed in that attack.
“I apologize for that,” Uribe said. “But we are interested in the future, and the same goes for Venezuela.”

UPDATE (CLICK LINK): Obama Speech Police Shutdown Top You Tube Videos
There can longer be any doubt, the White House and their army of cult followers are publicly censoring the news and restricting free speech.
People in opposition to Obama’s policies are now being beaten up in the streets everywhere and the White House has unleashed tattle tale squads to flag and report dissenters. We have now been directly censored. Even we are shocked.
It’s just like what Obama did with Odinga in Kenya– my God, these people are for real.
Again, we are under attack right now. Within the next hour, we’ll have a video and story up, so watch this space.
The enemy is moving against everyone, not just us.
It’s like 1918 in Russia, or the takeover in China by Mao or the rise of Hitler.
I’m working feverishly with my team. We’ll have details for you within the next 2 hours. Please stand by to get this info out to everyone you know. This is a Red alert.
I told everyone on Friday the country is on the edge of Revolution. The bankers know this; they knew there’d be resistance to their corporate takeover of the United States, so they are trying to restrict dissent and take over public meetings, because their illusion is in trouble.
Tyrannts slowly get you to accept their abuse, until all of a sudden you wake up and realize that you’re under the oppression seen in Germany in 1935.
This is a rush report; more to follow soon.

On July 30, Campbell Brown went after Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert for appearing on the Alex Jones Show. In a segment dubbed “Wingnut Watch,” Brown and her guest attacked Gohmert for his opposition to Obama’s plan to ration healthcare. Gohmert is a mental case, according to CNN, because he also would have presidential candidates demonstrate they are American citizens, as required by the Constitution.
Gohmert hit the “trifecta” when he appeared on the show of “9/11 truther” Alex Jones, according to Brown’s smirking guest.
Meanwhile, over at the Daily Beast, a website run by the former editor of Vanity Fair and The New Yorker and owned by IAC/InterActiveCorp (famous for consistently losing large sums of money) and Barry Diller (the man dedicated to eradicating free content on the web), the liberal scribe Michelle Goldberg writes Jones off as a John Bircher. Goldberg’s article is primarily about Judge Andrew Napolitano and Alex Jones is used to criticize Napolitano for the company he keeps:
On March 18, for example, Freedom Watch did a joint broadcast with the prolific conspiracy theorist Alex Jones—or, as Napolitano introduced him, “the one, the only, the great Alex Jones”—so that the show aired simultaneously on the Fox News Web site and on Jones’ radio program. It was an extraordinary collaboration, because Jones is best known as a leader of the 9/11 Truth movement. In his documentary 9/11: The Road to Tyranny, Jones argued that the attacks on the World Trade Center were orchestrated by the U.S. government as a pretext for the “power-mad megalomaniacs” of the New World Order to “usher in their corrupt world government, a world government where populations, their own documents show, will be herded into compact cities, will be issued national ID cards, and yes, even implantable microchips.”
Goldberg claims “Freedom Watch gave Jones a mainstream venue to warn that the banks had engineered the financial collapse in order to establish a global government that would collect carbon taxes to fuel its evil designs.”
Ms. Goldberg may not know it, but Freedom Watch is not a mainstream venue — it is an internet show and does not appear on Fox’s television network.
Goldberg is associated with The American Prospect, where she writes a column. Like the Daily Beast, The American Prospect excels at losing money and depends on grants to stay afloat. It takes money from the Schumann Center for Media and Democracy, a foundation created by the former president of General Motors Acceptance Corporation and an IBM trust fund baby. Schumann also funds the Tides Center, a “progressive” organization connected to the globalist George Soros.
Alex Jones is making the corporate media and the liberal foundation globalists nervous. In the past, they ignored him. Now they are increasingly shrill and desperate to portray him as a kook.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper who pulled over and choked a paramedic on his way to delivering a patient to hospital has suspended for just five days and ordered to attend an “anger assessment.”
The incident occurred in late May on Highway 62 near Boley in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma.
As we detailed in our report at the time, trooper Daniel Martin and his colleague were responding to a call of their own and were evidently annoyed that Maurice White Jr’s ambulance did not yield and give way to them on the road.
Video shot by the patient’s son on a cell phone showed Martin grab Mr White in an attempt to put him in an arm lock and cuff him. Mr White resisted, a scuffle ensued and Martin grabbed the EMT by the throat.
After pleading that he was a doctor, with a patient, on the way to the hospital, the troopers finally relented and left the scene.
The incident made headlines after the video went viral on Youtube.
Watch the video:
It later emerged that trooper Martin had a history of misusing authority and was fired in 2000 as Chief of Police in Fairfax, Oklahoma, for violent and bullying behavior.
Now, as J.D. Tuccille of the Civil Liberties Examiner reports, Martin has gotten away with a proverbial slap on the wrist, being suspended for just five days for “conduct unbecoming an officer” and ordered to undergo an anger assessment.
What’s more, Martin’s official suspension letter even justifies the stopping of the ambulance and condemns EMT Maurice White’s actions in attempting to return to his vehicle and take his patient to hospital.
“Daniel Martin was out of line, acting like a cartoon cop outraged that somebody didn’t ‘respect mah authoritah.’” Tuccille writes. “While letting his bruised ego run wild, he behaved unprofessionally and, potentially, put a life at risk.”
July 23, 2009
The Associated Press is reporting that Daniel Martin, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper caught on video throttling paramedic Maurice White Jr., was put on unpaid suspension for five days. Martin must also undergo an anger assessment.
Maurice White’s attorney said the paramedic was disappointed by the suspension.
A video released by the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety clearly shows Martin assaulting White on the side of the road in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma. A cell phone video of the assault posted on YouTube received well over a million views and was the second most-watched video on May 30. A Fox station in Tulsa filed a Freedom of Information request for the dash cam but the OHP stonewalled the request. Late on June 12, the department finally released the video. It was posted on YouTube on June 13.
Police initially said the EMT vehicle failed to yield and this was the reason Martin confronted White, assaulted him and threatened to arrest him. But the police video reveals that the EMT was unable to immediately yield due to a car pulling over in the breakdown lane on the side of the road.
On June 12, White said he doesn’t want to see anyone else in the position he was in. “Whatever we have to make sure that that never occurs again and that some definitive light is shed on the problems with the OHP, we will go forward and do it whatever that takes,” he told NewsOn6 in Oklahoma.

Israeli and Egyptian officials said two ships had sailed through the Suez Canal into the Red Sea.
Media reports in Israel said the two Saar-class missile ships had been sent as a “message” to the Tehran government, which has repeatedly issued threats against Israel and is developing nuclear technology believed by the West to be intended for atomic weapons programme.
While Iran denies this, saying its enrichment of uranium is for civlian purposes only, so that it can generate electricity.
Israel has also deployed a submarine using the Suez Canal, but it has since returned to the Mediterranean.
July 16, 2009
Israeli missile class warships sailed through the Suez Canal to the Red Sea ten days after a submarine capable of launching a nuclear missile strike, in what the British Times newspaper quoted an Israeli defense official as saying “should be taken seriously”. The move was apparently done in preparation for a possible attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, and the official said, “Israel is investing time in preparing itself for the complexity of an attack on Iran. These maneuvers are a message to Iran that Israel will follow up on its threats.”
The report came two days after two Saar class missile boats – the most advanced in the IDF’s possession – crossed the Suez Canal into the Red Sea. Arab sources said the movement was only a drill.
The defense official went on to say, “It is not by chance that Israel is drilling long-range maneuvers in a public way. This is not a secret operation. This is something that has been published and which will showcase Israel’s abilities.”
