UK Government To Install Surveillance Cameras In Private Homes 030809top

The UK government is about to spend $700 million dollars installing surveillance cameras inside the private homes of citizens to ensure that children go to bed on time, attend school and eat proper meals.

No you aren’t reading a passage from George Orwell’s 1984 or Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, this is Britain in 2009, a country which already has more surveillance cameras watching its population than the whole of Europe put together.

Now the government is embarking on a scheme called “Family Intervention Projects” which will literally create a nanny state on steroids, with social services goons and private security guards given the authority to make regular “home checks” to ensure parents are raising their children correctly.

Telescreens will also be installed so government spies can keep an eye on whether parents are mistreating kids and whether the kids are fulfilling their obligations under a pre-signed contract.

Around 2,000 families have been targeted by this program so far and the government wants to snare 20,000 more within the next two years. The tab will be picked up by the taxpayer, with the “interventions” being funded through local council authorities.

Another key aspect of the program will see parents deemed “responsible” by the government handed the power to denounce and report bad parents who allow their children to engage in bad behavior. Such families will then be targeted for “interventions”.

Both parents and children will also be forced to sign a “behavior contract” with the government known as Home School Agreements before the start of every year, in which the state will dictate obligations that it expects to be met.

The opposition Conservative Party, who are clear favorites to win the next British election, commented that the program does not go far enough and is “too little, too late.”

Respondents to a Daily Express article about the new program expressed their shock at the totalitarian implications of what is unfolding in the United Kingdom under the guise of social services initiatives.

“Sorry, but what the hell? Why are people not up in arms about this?,” writes one, “This is a complete invasion of privacy, and it totally ignores the fact that the state does NOT own kids. It’s not up to them how parents choose to raise their children, as long as the parents do not actively harm them. Why on earth aren’t the public rioting? It’s completely anathema to basic British freedoms.”

“Excuse me!?! What an incredible intrusion into the privacy of a family! George Orwell must be spinning in his grave right now,” writes another.

“I have one comment to make: it completely violates Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights (Human Rights Act 1998). Has this minister and his lackies even done any basic homework on basic human rights and civil liberties? Or rather they’ve just decided to completely ignore them,” adds another.

The move to install surveillance cameras inside private homes is also on the agenda across the pond. In February 2006, Houston Chief of Police Harold Hurtt said cameras should be placed inside apartments and homes in order to “fight crime” due to there being a shortage of police officers.

“I know a lot of people are concerned about Big Brother, but my response to that is, if you are not doing anything wrong, why should you worry about it?” Chief Hurtt told reporters.

Andy Teas with the Houston Apartment Association supported the proposal, saying privacy concerns would take a back seat to many people who would, “appreciate the thought of extra eyes looking out for them.”

If such programs come to fruition and are implemented on a mass scale then the full scope of George Orwell’s depiction of a totalitarian society is his classic novel 1984 will have been realized.

    The following passage is from Orwell’s 1984;

The telescreen received and transmitted simultaneously. Any sound that Winston made, above the level of a very low whisper, would be picked up by it, moreover, so long as he remained within the field of vision which the metal plaque commanded, he could be seen as well as heard. There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork. It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to. You had to live — did live, from habit that became instinct — in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized.

To be clear, a reporter asked me four years ago to explain the arguments for and against the use of surveillance cameras in the parking lots of privately-owned apartment properties in Houston. I gave what I thought was a fair summary of both sides. The quote you picked up is the only part they used.

Don’t believe everything you read. As Orwell writes in 1984, “If the Party could thrust its hand into the past and say this or that even, it never happened—that, surely, was more terrifying than mere torture and death.”

The OAS Treaty: Blueprint for Dismantling the Second Amendment

    Dave Kopel
    August 3, 2009

The Obama administration’s offensive against the Second Amendment has begun.

    • A d v e r t i s e m e n t
    • efoods

As was predicted, the strategy uses international law to create a foundation for repressive and extreme gun control. The mechanism is an international treaty, the “Inter-American Convention against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives and Other Related Materials.”

If the  plan succeeds, police sales of confiscated firearms would be prohibited, and anyone who reloads ammunition at home would need a federal license. In addition, the treaty would create an international law requirement that almost every American firearm owner be licensed as if he were a manufacturer.

Founded in 1948, the Organization of American States (OAS) includes all of the independent nations of the Western Hemisphere. (Cuba’s participation has been suspended since 1962.) In 1997, President Clinton signed a gun control treaty, which had been negotiated by OAS. Subsequently, neither he nor President George W. Bush sent the treaty to the United States Senate for ratification.

The treaty is commonly known as “CIFTA,” for its Spanish acronym, Convención Interamericana Contra La Fabricación Y El Tráfico Ilícitos De Armas De Fuego, Municiones, Explosivos Y Otros Materiales Relacionados. The document is called a “convention” rather than a “treaty” because “convention” is a term of art for a multilateral treaty created by a multinational organization.

Federal Influence Over Local Police in Texas

    Joey G. Dauben
    The Ellis County Observer
    August 3, 2009

WAXAHACHIE, Texas — In nearby Palmer, Texas, a section of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reports outlining “population relocation and removal” came up missing. Brandy Owen, who penned a series of articles for this newspaper on the Trans-Texas Corridor last year, requested from the City of Palmer the FEMA documents after inquiring about feds preparing procedures for civil unrest, flu pandemics and contingencies should the population rise up en masse.

She waited three months to finally get a response from Palmer City Administrator Doug Young.

Owen got the FEMA reports. But the most important section she sought was missing.

Palmer officials won’t talk, but Owen provided enough information for me last week on a story that has now reached global audiences (the second time this has happened this year; several months ago, I broke the story about Ferris issuing a policy to shoot feral dogs; that story later was picked up by papers in China and every major paper in the world. Not the country. The world.)

Austin radio talk show host Alex Jones of Infowars.com and PrisonPlanet.com syndicated the story and one Google search later, people from all over this land are discussing it.

    • A d v e r t i s e m e n t
    • efoods

Some were talking about the story with their Bible study classes last Saturday. From Indiana. People are contacting city officials over it.

There’s a lot of stuff that one could say about Infowars.com, but one thing is for sure: those readers and listeners are the most informed people ever. While people concentrate on sports, entertainment and tea parties, our federal government is quietly making plans to unleash all sorts of police state debauchery on unsuspecting citizens.

Some of the stuff is just so outlandish and extreme on the surface, but it’s the truth. What have I continally said about politics in Ellis County? Why worry about Washington when this stuff is happening in our own back yard?

FEMA has plans to remove and relocate large quantities of populated areas. The federal Centers for Disease Control estimates hundreds of thousands will die this fall because of the swine flu. Sheriff Johnny Brown is teaming up with local law enforcement and pastors for a “safety seminar” on Sept. 29 at First Baptist Church in Waxahachie. FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security have been training pastors to quell dissent should the civil unrest spark riots or “anti-government” activities.

Federal terrorism reports cite supporters of Congressman Ron Paul and the Constitution as “suspects” to watch out for.

It might be a good time to do a survey of just how many reports and plans our local police departments have on file.

Palmer PD Chief John Zaidle, Owen said, “is quite aware of federalization and says he has tried to be “compliant” and make proper arrangements for housing people in the high school gymnasium and other places. FEMA always tells him his plans are inadequate.”

For what purpose exactly? Pandemic? Natural disasters?

“In May 2006, we exposed the existence of a nationwide FEMA program which is training pastors and other religious representatives to become secret police enforcers who teach their congregations to “obey the government” in preparation for the implementation of martial law, property and firearm seizures, mass vaccination programs and forced relocation,” said Paul Joseph Watson, a reporter for Jones’ Infowars.com.

    See what I mean?

SWAT team confronts Young Americans for Liberty

    August 3, 2009

I’m sitting in the back of the classroom on the final day of the YAL National Convention, and I couldn’t wait any longer to get this YouTube video out to you.

Yesterday, YAL Events Director, Trevor Leach, and our top youth activists demonstrated on the Washington, DC, National Mall to collect petitions in opposition of Obama’s government takeover of health-care.

It wasn’t long until a SWAT team in an armored truck threatened Trevor and our youth activists declaring, “There are two options. Disassemble and leave. Or y’all are going to jail.”

“You don’t have free speech,” the sergeant told Trevor.

Fortunately, our youth activists video taped the entire confrontation and stayed up all night to produce this video footage.

Be prepared to be shocked, appalled, and a little an gry at the actions of our public servants who swore to uphold the U.S. Constitution.

After you watch this video, please do me a favor. Click here and donate generously to support these youth activists and advance their continuous efforts.

It is important to me to get this video in your hands immediately. I’ll send a full update on the first-ever YAL National Convention later this week.

Let me say, this weekend has impacted these students in a very large way.

    For liberty,

    Jeff Frazee

It’s incredible that this happened to the students for simple free speech. Students need more opportunities to learn how to promote liberty and defend their rights from situations like this. This fall, Students For Liberty (www.studentsforliberty.org) will be holding 7 Regional Conferences around the U.S. for just that purpose: teaching students about liberty and helping empower them to become leaders of liberty. Check it out at http://www.PoliticalConferences.org.

On July 30, Infowars reported on an Illinois Army National Guard plan to put Armored Security Vehicles on the streets. “A Springfield-based military police company will be training with a new armored vehicle in the area this week,” the Associated Press reported. “The Illinois Army National Guard says training with the new Armored Security Vehicles will start Thursday and run through Sunday.”

An Infowars reader captured an image of the combat vehicles over the weekend. “Here is a picture of the Illinois National Guard driving the new armored military police vehicles through the streets of Springfield, Illinois.”

Staff Sgt. Daniel Becker told the AP people shouldn’t be afraid of the vechicles. “No, they shouldn’t be afraid — they need to let the idea sink in that it is normal for armed troops to be on the streets. After they get used to military vehicles on the roads, they will need to get accustomed to military checkpoints like the ones in Iraq and Afghanistan,” we wrote at the time.

Greece To Enforce Mandatory Swine Flu Vaccinations

Greece To Enforce Mandatory Swine Flu Vaccinations 260609top

Greece has become the latest country to announce it will enforce a mandatory swine flu vaccination program, despite fears about the jabs containing mercury and squalene.

Despite the fact that there have been no deaths whatsoever from swine flu in the Mediterranean country, the Greek government has resolved to immunize its entire population of 12 million, all but guaranteeing that several thousand at least will be injured or be killed by the vaccine which is set to be fast tracked in Europe with no human testing at all.

“We decided that the entire population, all citizens and residents, without any exception, will be vaccinated against the flu,” Health Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos said after a ministerial meeting.

“We are only waiting for the European Union’s approval to start vaccinating everyone,” a Health Ministry official told Reuters.

As we highlighted last week, many batches of the H1N1 vaccine will will contain mercury, a toxin linked with autism and neurological disorders. Cases of autism in the U.S. have increased by 1,500 per cent since 1991, which is when vaccines for children doubled.

    • A d v e r t i s e m e n t
    • efoods

The swine flu jab will also contain the dangerous ingredient squalene, which has been directly linked with cases of Gulf War Syndrome and a host of other debilitating diseases.

Squalene “contributed to the cascade of reactions called “Gulf War syndrome. (GIs developed) arthritis, fibromyalgia, lymphadenopathy, rashes, photosensitive rashes, malar rashes, chronic fatigue, chronic headaches, abnormal body hair loss, non-healing skin lesions, aphthous ulcers, dizziness, weakness, memory loss, seizures, mood changes, neuropsychiatric problems, anti-thyroid effects, anaemia, elevated ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), systemic lupus erythematosus, multiple sclerosis, ALS, Raynaud’s phenomenon, Sjorgren’s syndrome, chronic diarrhea, night sweats and low-grade fever,” according to Micropaleontologist Dr. Viera Scheibner.

Health authorities in both the UK and the U.S. have implied that the upcoming mass vaccination program against H1N1 will be mandatory, but no formal decision has been communicated to the public. However, both countries are in the process of purchasing enough doses to cover the entire population.

A member of the public who was concerned about a mandatory mass vaccination program in light of the swine flu pandemic called the Arkansas State Health Department for advice only to be told that mandatory vaccines were constitutional and could be enforced at gunpoint by the government if necessary.

Pharmaceutical companies can be assured that they won’t face reprisals for the many thousands of injuries and deaths that will inevitably occur as a result of exposing millions to mercury and squalene during a mass vaccination program, because the government has already acted to provide them with blanket immunity from lawsuits.

“Vaccine makers and federal officials will be immune from lawsuits that result from any new swine flu vaccine, under a document signed by Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius,” reported the Associated Press last month.

FDA concludes mercury in dental fillings not risky

    Suzanne Bohan
    The Oakland Tribune

Dental amalgam fillings have so little mercury that they’re not a health hazard, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration ruled after concluding a six-year review of 200 studies on the contentious issue.

“The best available scientific evidence supports the conclusion that patients with dental amalgam fillings are not at risk for mercury-associated adverse health effects,” said Susan Runner, the FDA’s dental products director.

It was something of an about-face for the FDA, which last year settled a lawsuit with anti-mercury activists by posting on its Web site a precaution saying questions remained about whether the small amount of mercury vapor the fillings can release were enough to harm the developing brains of fetuses or very young children. That advisory, which was updated as recently as July 8, has been removed from the FDA site.

Still, the agency did slightly strengthen how it regulates the fillings, urging dentists to provide their patients with a government-written statement detailing the mercury controversy and what science shows.
